Uphill Policies

West Coast Uphill Ski Resort Policies

UPDATED FOR THE 2023/24 SEASON

We reviewed 52 resorts on or near the West Coast of the US.

At this time there are only 21 resorts that have written uphill travel policies. That's up from 11 resorts that had written policies that allowed uphill travel just 4 seasons ago.

There are 8 resorts, all of which are in California, that do not allow any uphill travel at all.

As one of the most progressive regions in the country, it is disappointing that more mountain resorts haven't embraced uphill ski travel. We hope that we can help change this in the near future.

Resort access varies widely. Hours of operation and uphill access can change from day to day. Below you will find uphill access hours allowed and potential costs for uphill travel at your local resort. We have also provuided links to each resorts uphill policy for your review before heading out. We do our best to provide the most accurate informaton. Please be sure to check with your local resort before heading out on the mountain.

NOTE: A variety of factors can close uphill access for resorts including early season operations, snowmaking, lack of snow and avalanche mitigation. Always check with your resort before heading out.
